Guacamole is among those foods that is so basic you barely even require a real dish to prepare it! It is almost like a blank canvas, easily beautified by the addition of different colors … or in this case, active ingredients. Here, I’ll share our simple formula, together with a few extra add-ins that you can utilize, depending upon the taste (and whims) of your young sous-chefs (and their buddies, the Dragons).
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 lemon or lime
1/4 red onion
numerous sprigs of cilantro
1/4 cup salsa or diced fresh tomatoes
If you like your tacos spicy, you can add Chilis, however do not give any to the Dragons, or you’ll be sorry! (For humans only– attempt jalapeno or serano– diced with seeds removed– clean your hands immediately after handling, or you can burn your eyes if you rub them by accident first!).
Adult: Cut the avocado in half. Remove the big seed and set aside.
Use a spoon to dig the avocado from the peel into a large bowl.
Utilizing a fork, mash the avocado into a paste. Some portions are alright.
Step the salt and sprinkle it in.
Cut the lemon or lime in half.
Squeeze the juice into the mashed avocado.
Stir to combine.
Serve on your preferred taco!
ps. If you like your guacamole a little spicy or desire more fun tastes, you can also add some diced red onion, some chopped cilantro or some salsa. If you like your food really spicy, you can include some diced chilis too!
